Vélez Sarsfield and Defensa y Justicia finished level at 1-1 at Liniers in the fifth match of the Torneo Clausura, but the most notable incident was a physical confrontation between managers Guillermo Barros Schelotto and Julio Vaccari that took place in the tunnel towards the dressing rooms. Players from both teams took several minutes to separate the coaches.

Manu Lanzini opened the scoring for Fortín early in the match, while the visitors equalised with a goal from Leandro Fernández 11 minutes from the end. The match was disputed and intense, with clashes mainly between the substitute benches.

Vaccari and Barros Schelotto had already had a heated exchange during the second half. When referee Nicolás Ramírez blew the final whistle, Guillermo headed towards the tunnel, grabbed Vaccari by the neck and the argument escalated into a fistfight.

Lanzini and Thiago Silvero, players who intervened to stop the conflict, avoided elaborating on the matter after the match. Vaccari, at the press conference, declined to address what happened: "Absolutely nothing happened, it's just what happens in a match," he said.

With the draw, Vélez finished second in Group A of the Clausura with 11 points, one fewer than Instituto de Córdoba. Defensa y Justicia reached 8 points and sits in the playoff qualification zone.
