Despite stating he sought "extreme opulence" for his fall 2026 collection, Alexander Wang delivered garments rendered in slate gray and black that presented a more streamlined aesthetic. Sleek blazers, beefy padded coats in imposing black, and tough-girl leather pieces were cinched with fur belts made from wire and frozen in undulating waves.
Faux fur and rhinestones served as the collection's two major motifs. The faux fur appeared as the lining of a jean jacket, the lapels of a technical khaki nylon trench, and trimmings on denim miniskirts. It was also reimagined as a Meret Oppenheim-esque tank top and a fluffy bra atop a leather dress. The undulating faux fur belts were reworked as the hem of a cropped high-neck sweater and logo t-shirt. "It's gestural," Wang said. "Like the attitude of tying your shirt at your waist."
Rhinestones were splashed across body-skimming dresses in mini and maxi cuts, many featuring a yanked-and-tied-at-the-hip detail inspired by an image of Kate Moss leaving a party with her ripped gown hem lifted and tied. The same fur and crystal details appeared across the designer's shoes and bags. Other highlights included geometric, minimalist garments: a long cylindrical knit maxi dress designed as a tube with armholes and a floppy cowl neck, a slinky cape made from one large fabric half-circle, and a dress with a draped and folded hemline created from a continuous, donut pattern. "It's just easy," Wang said. "To feel minimal and not so worked. And then we add the crystal embellishment."
The collection carried a carefree attitude and a touch of Wang's characteristic irreverent gaudiness. Wang noted seeing Charli XCX at Outside Lands sparked a feeling of déjà vu, saying, "I was like, 'Oh my god, this feels so familiar.'" The brand is also reintroducing its beloved grommeted-bottom Rocco bag in three sizes this season, lighter than the original.
