Netflix appointed Katie Martin Kelley, a veteran communications executive with over two decades of experience, as its new Vice President of Film Communications, the streaming platform announced on Monday, 17 August.

Martin Kelley joins Netflix from Warner Bros. Pictures, where she will oversee communications for Dan Lin's film portfolio, including live-action films, documentaries, children's and family animation and film, as well as film and television licensing and Netflix's international film and series portfolio.

She will report to Dani Dudeck, Netflix's Director of Communications. Her first day will be 8 September. "I'm excited to welcome Katie to Netflix as our Vice President of Film Communications. She brings over 20 years of experience from some of the world's most renowned studios, where she has worked with some of the industry's most celebrated storytellers. I look forward to collaborating with her as we support Netflix's ambitious global film slate," Dudeck said in a statement.

Dudeck's communications leadership team also includes Kelly Pakula (Vice President of Global Corporate Communications), Oliver Rawlins (Vice President of Communications, EMEA), Flávia Vigio (Vice President of Communications, LATAM) and Joy Albert (Vice President of Communications, APAC). Dudeck is also recruiting a counterpart to Martin Kelley to oversee series, podcasts, video games and live events and sports content.

Martin Kelley's departure from Warner Bros. comes amid uncertainty surrounding the merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, which for now will not close before the conclusion of litigation in March 2027, following antitrust action by 12 US states against the merger.

During her time at Warner Bros., Martin Kelley oversaw media relations for WB Pictures, New Line Cinema, the animation team and the new Clockwork label. She joined WB after previously working with film executives Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy at MGM, and spent 12 years at Paramount overseeing national advertising and corporate communications.

Martin Kelley is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
