Spain recorded strong performance in its exports during June, with broad-based growth across the main sectors of the fashion trade. Sales abroad reached a new record high for the month, according to available records.
The Spanish fashion sector experienced double-digit growth, contributing significantly to this result. The dynamism of exports helped offset the deficit performance of the fashion sector's trade balance, which contracted 4 per cent in year-on-year terms at the close of the first half.
The fall in footwear imports was mainly responsible for the contraction of the sector's trade balance during the first half of the year.
