Trump said in an interview with radio programme "77 WABC" that the United States "is doing very, very well" in its confrontation with Iran. He added: "The navy is done, the air force is done, the leadership is done".
The US president said that the loss of a large number of Iranian leaders has become an obstacle to any possible agreement. "Part of the problem is that too many leaders have disappeared. It's not easy to make a deal. Nobody knows who is in charge," he said.
Trump emphasised that preventing Iran from possessing nuclear weapons represents a fundamental priority for the United States, considering that Tehran would use them if it managed to obtain them. He also spoke about the use of US B-2 bombers, pointing out that the attacks carried out "completely stopped" the Iranian threat.
According to Trump, if Iran had possessed a nuclear weapon it would have used it and destroyed Israel and the entire Middle East.
