United Airlines has again modified its schedule and postponed the resumption of direct flights between Houston and Caracas until 12 January 2027. The US airline closed bookings for the period between 6 October 2026 and 11 January 2027, according to global distribution system records reported by specialised portal AeroRoutes.
According to AeroRoutes, the adjustment reflects the standard practice among airlines of maintaining tentative schedules while regulatory factors remain pending. The reactivation of commercial flights remains subject to the formal lifting of bilateral air restrictions issued in May 2019 by the US Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration, as well as operational approvals from Venezuela's National Institute of Civil Aviation.
United had announced in May 2026 its intention to restore daily service from 11 August, subject to the corresponding government approvals. This is the second major modification to the route's start date.
American Airlines has already resumed operations between Miami and Caracas in April 2026, with the first commercial flight on 30 April that year. Direct commercial flights between the United States and Venezuela began to resume in 2026, after years of suspension.
