The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed on Friday, 14 August, the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelan citizens. The agency warned affected beneficiaries that they could be subject to deportation if they do not have another legal avenue to remain in the country.

The DHS included Venezuela in the decision to end the temporary protection programme that had covered nationals of that nation.
