Tim Martin, owner of the Wetherspoons pub chain, has prohibited customers from taking phone calls on speaker or playing videos without headphones at his establishments. The ban aims to preserve the convivial atmosphere in the pubs.

Patrons at two of the chain's London locations welcomed the measure. At the Moon Under Water pub in Leicester Square, customers were observed enjoying the terrace and conversing between tables without disruption from speakerphone calls or unmuted videos.
