Algeria intensifies crackdown on migrant trafficking networks

Algeria is strengthening operations against clandestine emigration and trafficking groups operating along its coast, according to decisions made at a Ministry of Interior meeting.

Algeria intensified its struggle against clandestine emigration and declared war on trafficking groups operating along its coastline. The tightening of measures was decided at a meeting chaired on Sunday, 16 August by the Minister of Interior, Local Affairs and Transport, Saïd Sayoud.

During the meeting, the situation of clandestine emigration in the country was examined.
