Luka Doncic has organised a five-day training camp that will take his Lakers teammates to Slovenia from Thursday, according to ESPN journalist Ramona Shelburne. The trip, which will run until 24 August in Ljubljana, includes activities designed to strengthen team cohesion before the official start of pre-season training.
The Slovenian point guard chartered a private plane for 14 people and prepared a series of experiences that go beyond basketball. Upon arriving at the hotel, the players will find gift bags with typical Slovenian products, followed by a visit to one of Doncic's favourite restaurants, where he will serve as a gastronomic guide during the stay.
Plans include a fishing day at Lake Bled, one of Slovenia's most iconic sites, as well as a golf competition. Austin Reaves has already announced his intention to face Doncic on the golf course. Almost the entire Lakers roster confirmed their attendance at the event.
The trip marks a shift in the team's leadership dynamics. Previously, LeBron James had organised his own mini-camps for the Lakers. With James now gone from Los Angeles, Doncic assumes the role of host and seeks to establish a new tradition while strengthening bonds within the completely revamped locker room.
