The Córdoba Law Society presented the official shirt for the second edition of its marathon, which this year will honour the Heroes of Malvinas under the message "The Malvinas are Argentine". The president of the institution, Eduardo Bittar, led the event alongside representatives of the Islas Malvinas Athletic Club and members of the organising team.
The race will take place on Sunday, 27 September with the start from Duarte Quirós and Bolívar, in front of the Law Society's headquarters. There will be competitions of 10 kilometres and 6 kilometres, as well as a participatory category of 1 kilometre. The route will traverse prominent sectors of the city via a certified course designed to favour fast racing. Registrations are now open at esfuerzodeportivo.com, with a maximum capacity of 2,000 participants.
The shirt was specially designed for this edition and incorporates the national colours, the Sun of May and references to 1982, made by Jacana. Competitors in the 10K and 6K distances will receive a kit that includes the official shirt and race bib with chip timing. The initiative responds to the concept "The flag became skin" and seeks to keep alive the memory of the Malvinas cause, recognise war veterans and convey its significance to new generations.
The marathon is open to runners, running clubs, families and the general public. There will be prizes for general classifications in both distances and awards by category. Under the slogan "Córdoba's fastest race", the organisers hope to match or exceed the turnout achieved in its first edition.
