Privacy Policy
How El Medio Oriente treats reader data.
Who we are
This site is published by El Medio Oriente. For any question about your data, including a request for access or deletion, write to info@elmediooriente.net.
What we collect
You can read everything on this site without an account. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number in order to read the news.
We count how many times a story is read. That count lives on our own server as a single number per story per day, and is not tied to your identity or your device.
Google Analytics
We would like to understand which stories are read. For that we may use Google Analytics, which stores a cookie on your device and sends visit data to Google.
It does not run unless you agree to it. Before you press “Accept” on the banner, Google's script is not loaded at all — not merely disabled. If you decline, we do not ask again.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser; the banner will reappear.
Third-party services
Some images and videos on this site are loaded from third-party servers. When that happens, those providers can see your IP address, as is true of any request on the internet.
Your rights
Under the data protection laws of the countries where we are read — among them Colombia's Ley 1581 de 2012, Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data and Argentina's Ley 25.326 — you have the right to know what data we process, to receive a copy, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Send your request to info@elmediooriente.net and we will respond.
Changes
If this policy changes, the current version is always on this page.
