A wildfire thought to be the largest in Belgian history was moving closer to the German border on Monday, prompting evacuations in the region.
The local governor's office said the fire's spread remained limited due to more favorable winds and rainfall recorded late overnight.
Major aerial resources were due to reinforce crews on the ground throughout the day, the governor's office said. Helicopters from Norway and Germany were joining the fleet of aircraft hauling water to areas difficult to reach by ground.
