Fender is entering the consumer audio market with Bluetooth headphones and speakers. The product line, announced in January at CES, is now available from Fender Audio, Best Buy, and Amazon.
The range includes two Bluetooth speakers with XLR inputs that can serve as portable amplifiers for guitars, and a pair of wireless noise-canceling headphones called Mix. The headphones feature user-replaceable components including the headband, earcups, and battery, with replacement parts to be sold in different colors for customization. A brand representative said the replacement components should arrive "very soon."
Fender Audio claims the Mix headphones offer up to 100 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation off, or 52 hours with ANC enabled, based on testing at 50 percent volume. The headphones include a USB-C transmitter for wireless high-fidelity audio and can also be used with a passive wired connection.
The larger speaker features two full-range drivers, two tweeters, and two woofers. Both speakers can be used as a stereo pair or multiroom speaker through Auracast Bluetooth connectivity.
