Google launched a promotion offering a full year of Google AI Plus at no cost to university students enrolled in higher education institutions around the world. The offer is available in Spain, Mexico and other Latin American countries, with the exception of Bolivia, and requires users to validate their student status to access the benefit.

Google AI Plus includes 400 gigabytes of cloud storage distributed among Drive, Photos and Gmail, as well as higher usage limits within Gemini. The subscription provides access to Gemini 3.1 Pro, Deep Research mode and exclusive tools not available on free accounts, according to the company in a post on its official blog.

Among the exclusive tools are Nano Banana Pro, which allows generating up to 50 4K images daily, and Veo 3.1 with Google Flow, which offers 200 monthly credits to create videos. Google AI Plus also includes integration with Gemini Notebook, the company's intelligent notebook platform.

Simultaneously with the promotion, Google announced new features focused on learning within the Gemini application. A new space groups study tools that allow creating work notebooks, generating flashcards and taking practice quizzes. Notebooks can organise documents into plans structured by topic and generate short lessons with personalised questions accompanied by progress dashboards.

The update also allows notebooks to integrate graphics and images into lessons, schedule exams and assignments in Google Calendar from uploaded documents, and generate interactive 3D simulations within responses. Deep Research, the research assistant, will now be available in Gemini Live, allowing users to request in-depth analysis of topics and continue with other tasks while the AI completes the work.
