L-Nutra, headquartered in Culver City, California, is recalling Prolon brand almond and cocoa cream because it contains cashews, pistachios and hazelnuts that were not declared. People with serious allergies or sensitivities to these tree nuts risk suffering a severe or potentially fatal allergic reaction if they consume this product.
The product was distributed through L-Nutra's e-commerce site, ProlonLife.com, either as a direct purchase or included in certain Prolon product bundles. The recalled product is identified as Prolon almond and cocoa cream by the Apulian brand, presented in 8.47 ounce (240 gram) glass jars with barcode 850040360530.
The recalled batch is L2755, with an expiration date of 2 January 2027, which is located on the jar lid, directly below the expiration date. To date, L-Nutra has documented one confirmed allergic reaction associated with this product.
The recall was initiated after testing confirmed the presence of undeclared tree nut allergens in the product. The cause is still under investigation. At this time, batch L2755 is the only one known to be affected.
