Members of Parliament declared nearly £400,000 in hospitality during the year, including tickets to concerts, sporting events and award ceremonies, critics said. The figure prompted accusations that lawmakers had failed to absorb lessons from controversies in 2024 over Prime Minister Keir Starmer accepting football tickets and clothing gifts.
Among those declaring hospitality were Louise Haigh, Lucy Powell and Wes Streeting, according to the allegation. Specific tickets included £858 for a Harry Styles concert at Wembley, £1,839 for the Chelsea Flower Show and £3,432 for hospitality at the Brit Awards.
MPs appear to have been declaring hospitality on a greater scale than previously seen since the start of the year, critics noted.
