NBA 2K27 will officially launch worldwide on September 4, according to information revealed by 2K during a recent presentation. Among the most notable changes is the debut of a mixed-gender city in the video game's history, which will allow male and female characters to level up without distinction on the courts.
The company indicated that characters of both genders will have the same structure, height, badges, attributes and wingspan, so only the builds of each player and their playing style will matter. The city will also include an aesthetic overhaul with new outdoor courts and female clothing options.
In "My Career", NBA 2K27 will offer three main innovations. Players will be able to set their careers in different historical moments of basketball, such as the Jordan era, Magic versus Bird, or the current era. Those who choose the modern era will have access to "Fire and Concrete", an 11-chapter story that will begin at Duke University and culminate in the NBA.
Another innovation is the ability to play career mode cooperatively with a friend, simultaneously controlling Trace Miller, a G League character who accompanies the main player in his rise to the NBA. On August 21, NBA 2K HQ will be launched, an application that will allow players to create characters from anywhere before the official release.
2K also highlighted improvements to the gameplay system through ProPLAY, a tool that promises greater realism in dunk and defensive animations. Users with the Deluxe Edition or higher will be able to access the game on August 26, two days before the general launch.
