The Scottish Football Association has appointed Belgian manager Sébastien Pocognoli as Steve Clarke's successor. The 39-year-old, who was dismissed by Monaco in June, will be Scotland's first non-Scottish manager since Berti Vogts, who held the position from 2002 to 2004.
Clarke departed abruptly following Scotland's elimination from the World Cup at the group stage, despite having signed a four-year contract extension shortly before the tournament began. The SFA said it welcomed Pocognoli's "aggressive, front-foot style of play."
The search for Clarke's replacement saw foreign managers linked with the role, including Danes Jon Dahl Tomasson and Kasper Hjulmand.
