A resident of Mississippi County, identified as Bonnie W., visited a lottery vending machine at the Kroger store in Blytheville and selected a ticket at random, winning a $100,000 prize, according to officials at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.
Bonnie selected a scratch-off ticket at random, and the 50X ticket turned out to be a $100,000 winner. According to what she told officials, she simply pressed a button at random and didn't realise the prize would be so large.
The winner said her first call was to her husband, who needed convincing that the ticket was real. Her second call was to her best friend. Bonnie recalled asking: "What are you doing today? No, you have to come with me to Little Rock -- I just won!"
The winner indicated that the prize money will go to savings for now.
