HoverAir, a brand of Zero Zero Robotics, has unveiled its latest $750 Versa device, which the company describes as a DJI Pocket-style camera with interchangeable propellers that enable flight, rather than a drone. The move represents a possible attempt by the brand to circumvent US regulatory restrictions.
In December 2025, the US government banned future foreign drones from entering the country, leaving HoverAir's Aqua drone, one of the first to be affected by the measure, out in the cold. The brand has become known for its innovations, including foldable pocket designs, water landing capability and integrated charging systems in cases.
With this latest device, Zero Zero Robotics appears to have identified a potential legal loophole in the regulation. However, the viability of this strategy in the face of US regulators remains unconfirmed.
