The Barcelona Punta Umbría Mar, located between the Marismas del Odiel Reserve and the Los Enebrales Natural Site in Huelva province, has completed renovation of its façade, reception, lobby bar, buffet restaurant and 296 rooms. The establishment will reopen next season as a five-star hotel for adults, with final touches planned for winter.
The renovation incorporates a colour palette of earthy, green and blue tones inspired by the surrounding natural environment. Room categories include the Double Superior Premium Sea View, with direct views of the Atlantic Ocean, and the 110-square-metre Junior Suite Deluxe, which features an outdoor terrace and hydromassage tub facing the sea. All rooms include spacious bathrooms, storage areas and updated lighting systems.
The hotel has a new lobby bar designed as a meeting space, as well as a buffet restaurant with traditional Andalusian offerings and Arrozante, a gastronomic concept dedicated to rice dishes and paellas that this season will offer dinner and breakfast service for the superior room categories. The menu includes local specialities such as Huelva prawns and premium Iberian products.
Barceló Hotel Group confirmed that the investment reflects its commitment to Andalusia as a strategic destination and aligns with its Barceló ReGen sustainability strategy. The company noted that the project generates direct and indirect employment and partners with local suppliers in the province.
The hotel launched "Salty Letters", its first official mail club, a set of physical correspondence designed to promote slow travel among its guests. The package contains a postcard, themed stickers, cards with inspirational phrases, a local guide and a letter from the hotel manager, with the aim of transforming the holiday experience into a tangible memory.
