The thriller series 'Kill Jackie', starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, has set its premiere date on Prime Video. The production from Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures will launch all eight episodes on 2 October on the streaming platform in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Canada. The series will air on AMC+ in the United States during the autumn, though a premiere date has not yet been specified.
Based on the acclaimed novel "The Price You Pay" by Nick Harkaway, written under the pseudonym Aidan Truhen, 'Kill Jackie' features Zeta-Jones as a former international drug smuggler turned art dealer whose past returns to haunt her. According to the official synopsis, "when life begins to feel a little boring, it takes a suddenly lethal turn when she discovers that The Seven Demons, a squad of the world's most terrifying hired assassins, have been contracted to kill her".
The cast also includes Daniel Ings, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Bill Paterson, Ron Perlman, Óscar Jaenada, Hattie Hook, Darci Shaw, Raff Law, Enzo Cilenti, Christine Adams, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Karlis Arnolds Avots, Set Sjöstrand, Tadashi Ito, Sebastian Armesto, Julian Barratt, Gavin Spokes, Jonathan Cake and Bamshad Abedi-Amin.
'Kill Jackie' was co-created by Conor Keane and Tom Butterworth, whose work includes 'Gangs of London', along with Peter Lawson ('John Wick') and Damon Thomas ('Killing Eve'). Thomas is the lead director and Butterworth serves as screenwriter and showrunner. Keane co-wrote the television adaptation and also serves as an associate producer. Executive producers include Lawson, Jose Agustin Valdes from Steel Springs Pictures, as well as Butterworth, Thomas and Zeta-Jones, along with Rebecca Dundon, Dante Di Loreto and Jeffrey Levine. Harkaway served as executive consultant to the series.
