A Venezuelan citizen aged approximately 50 was murdered in the early hours of Sunday in the district of Estación Central, in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago, Chile. The attack occurred at the intersection of Atahualpa and Los Pingüinos.

Passers-by took the man to the Mutual de Seguridad clinic, where he was admitted with no signs of life. According to Commissioner Sergio Mendoza of the Central North Homicide Brigade, the victim had up-to-date documents and was a regular resident of the country with no police record.

Mendoza reported that a wound from a ballistic projectile impact was found in the dorsal region of the torso, with thoracic trauma being the probable cause of death.
