The General College of Veterinary Physicians is preparing to hold the second meeting of its "Voice of the Veterinary Physician" programme on Tuesday, 25 August 2026 in Burkina Faso province. The meeting will bring together Dr Magdi Hassan, dean of veterinary physicians, with members of the general assembly of Burkina Faso, Alexandria and Marsa Matruh, with attendance from provincial deans and members of the boards of directors of affiliated colleges to discuss various professional and guild matters.
Dr Magdi Hassan, general dean of veterinary physicians, explained that the "Voice of the Veterinary Physician" meetings aim to bring the general college closer to veterinarians in their provinces and open direct dialogue on matters affecting the profession. He indicated that this second round continues the initiative started at previous meetings in other provinces, and that the college is currently working on various professional and service matters. Hassan noted that these meetings represent an opportunity to present steps taken and discuss cases still in process, as well as identify problems requiring follow-up in each province.
Hassan emphasised that the tours will continue until reaching all provinces in the country, clarifying that the objective is for each affiliated college and its members to have direct access to the general college to discuss matters in a way more closely linked to the reality of work in each province. He noted that guild work is not limited to raising issues, but requires follow-up and coordination with the competent authorities, and that the college seeks to build on what has been achieved in different cases whilst establishing clear priorities for future work.
Dr Safaa Gharbial, dean of veterinary physicians in Burkina Faso, expressed that the meeting represents an opportunity to discuss several guild and professional matters of interest to veterinarians in the province, as well as analyse services provided to members and ways to improve them, and follow up on issues requiring coordination between the affiliated college and the general college. She added that the presence of the general dean and the college's leadership will allow discussion of guild and professional matters directly, especially cases requiring follow-up at the national level.
Dr Ghada Hussein Moussa, dean of veterinary physicians in Alexandria, noted that the meeting will allow discussion of several guild and professional matters related to veterinarians, present members' perspectives on services and programmes that could be improved, and follow up on cases the college is working on. She highlighted that direct communication helps convey the needs of veterinarians in Alexandria to the general college clearly, and allows discussion of matters requiring intervention or follow-up at the national level.
Dr Mohamed El-Masry, dean of veterinary physicians in Marsa Matruh, indicated that the participation of veterinarians from his province in the meeting will allow them to raise and discuss guild and professional matters of interest to them, as well as analyse issues requiring support or coordination with the general college and the competent authorities. He added that direct communication with the general dean contributes to follow-up of cases affecting veterinarians in Marsa Matruh and allows discussion of matters related to guild and professional rights and services, as well as presenting suggestions that could improve guild work and strengthen communication between the affiliated college and the general college. The meeting will include open dialogue between the general dean and veterinary physicians, with presentation of questions, suggestions and discussion of all professional and guild matters.
