More than 1,600 people are sheltered in the temporary camp at César Nieves stadium in Catia la Mar, La Guaira, following the earthquakes that affected the area. The displaced persons share this open space and sleep in tents with no idea of how long they will remain in this situation.

The refugees face long waits for care, food, water and other basic services in the camp. The uncertainty about the length of their stay worsens the difficulties of those who have lost their homes in the earthquakes.
