Abdelaziz Rahabi, an Algerian diplomat, questioned attacks directed against Algeria by Morocco's representative to the UN, Omar Hilale, and writer Tahar Ben Jelloun. His criticism coincided with the exodus of thousands of Moroccans towards Ceuta.

Rahabi also referred to former Tunisian president Moncef Marzouki. The diplomat argued that Morocco is inspired by the model of Israel, its new ally, in its strategy against Algeria.
