DC Comics' Green Lantern Corps, which spans the infinite boundaries of the cosmos with a legion of 7,204 intergalactic space police officers, has its own television series titled "Green Lantern". The series will be broadcast exclusively for HBO cable subscribers and simultaneously on HBO Max.

"Green Lantern" will premiere on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time. Subsequent episodes will air each Sunday night until the season finale on October 4, 2026. The series will consist of eight episodes.

The plot follows Hal Jordan, a seasoned galactic peace officer, who partners with John Stewart, a rookie protégé, to investigate a series of strange murders in the agricultural heartland of the United States. The series adopts a modern noir novel tone that also includes alien invasion action with shapeshifter Hunters prowling Nebraska and space action on a remote prison planet.

The cast includes Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Laura Linney, Jason Ritter, J. Alphonse Nicholson and Jasmine Cephas Jones. Chris Mundy serves as executive producer and co-writer, in collaboration with Damon Lindelof and Tom King.

Though no formal announcement has been made, a second season seems likely. The writers' room has already been established and is mapping out a second instalment under the direction of writer Christopher Cantwell, though Damon Lindelof will not return as co-writer for the second season.
