Microsoft has launched a new artificial intelligence model to compete with Claude Code and other software development systems. The model, called MAI-Code-1.1-Flash, was designed to perform programming tasks integrated into GitHub Copilot.

According to its creators, MAI-Code-1.1-Flash surpasses in quality, speed and cost both its predecessor and other artificial intelligence models available on the market.
