Reddit is testing a new way for users to consume content on its platform: converting text posts into audio and video content. As part of an experiment, some posts are being adapted into videos that use artificial intelligence voices to read the text of the main post and some comments.

The videos highlight the text as it is read by the AI voice, and below the video appears a note indicating that it is a "real conversation expressed by AI". An example of the system is an old post from the r/boardgames subreddit from eight years ago with 101 replies about board game recommendations for road trips for adults, which now appears as a three-minute video instead of the usual text thread.
