STC's half-year profit falls despite revenue growth

Saudi Telecom Company reported a 2.1% decline in its half-year profit, although it increased consolidated revenues 3.8% in the first six months of 2026.

Saudi Telecom Company (STC), a major shareholder in Spanish telecoms firm Telefónica with nearly 10% of the capital, recorded net profit attributable to shareholders of 7,319 million Saudi rials (€1,692.2 million) during the first half of 2026. According to the interim consolidated accounts, this figure represents a contraction of 2.1% compared with 7,472 million rials (€1,727.5 million) in the same period of the previous year.

The Saudi operator's consolidated revenue totalled 40,110 million rials (€9,273.5 million) between January and June 2026, reflecting year-on-year growth of 3.8% compared with 38,660 million rials (€8,938.2 million) generated in the first half of 2025. Gross profit rose 5.2% to reach 19,637 million Saudi rials (€4,540.1 million), against 18,658 million rials in the equivalent period a year earlier.

STC's management confirmed the distribution of a total dividend of 2,746.2 million Saudi rials (€634.9 million) on 20 August next with a charge to the company's second quarter 2026 operating results. Shareholders will receive an interim payment of 0.55 rials per share, maintaining the quarterly remuneration policy set until the end of 2027.

STC chief executive Olayan bin Mohammed Alwetaid said the figures confirm solid financial and operational performance alongside the continued advancement of the group's strategic priorities. The executive highlighted that the progress reflects the stability of the business model and the company's operational resilience.

At the close of June 2026, Saudi Telecom Company's total assets reached 166,996.9 million Saudi rials (€38,610.3 million), compared with 157,476.6 million rials at the close of 2025. Long-term financial debt came to 22,094.1 million rials (€5,108.2 million), whilst equity attributable to the parent closed at 84,986.8 million Saudi rials (€19,649.2 million).
