Thousands of Venezuelan and Colombian citizens died in earthquakes that shook the region in June and August, according to Runrun.es. The tremors left a significant number of fatalities in both countries.

The natural disasters occurred on two separate occasions during those months, severely affecting the populations of Venezuela and Colombia with considerable loss of life.
