The Spanish player from Murcia will return to official competition from 30 August at the US Open, the year's final Grand Slam tournament, after being absent from eight tournaments since he retired in the second round of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell.
Alcaraz missed the Mutua Madrid Open, Rome, Roland Garros, Queen's, Wimbledon, Montreal and Cincinnati before his scheduled return in New York.
Through the end of November, the Spanish player will compete in a total of seven tournaments: the US Open, the Laver Cup (25–27 September); Tokyo (30 September–6 October); Shanghai (7–18 October); the Six Kings Slam (21–24 October); Paris (2–8 November) and the ATP Finals in Turin (15–22 November).
An eighth competition would be added to his calendar if Spain defeats Chile at home on 19 and 20 September, which would qualify the Spanish team for the Davis Cup Finals in Bologna.
