Rafa Jódar, the 19-year-old Madrid player, will face Flavio Cobolli, the world's tenth-ranked player, on Wednesday in the round of 16 of the Cincinnati Masters 1000. It will be the first meeting between the two tennis players.
Jódar is on a streak of ten consecutive victories on the US hardcourt tour, with wins in Washington and the Montreal and Cincinnati Masters. The Spaniard is approaching the top 10, a ranking he would secure if he wins the title in the Ohio tournament.
Cobolli, a finalist this season at Roland Garros, advanced to the round of 16 by defeating Alexander Blockx in three close sets. The match between Jódar and Cobolli will take place on Wednesday at a time yet to be confirmed.
The match will be broadcast on Movistar+.
