Meteorological conditions in Buenos Aires city and the greater metropolitan area will maintain typically winter characteristics throughout Thursday, 20 August, with low temperatures and abundant cloud cover. Unlike recent days of unstable conditions, atmospheric stability will prevail and no precipitation is forecast in the short term, according to official information.
The minimum temperature will reach 9°C in the morning, when the cold will intensify due to the presence of light winds and clear to partly cloudy skies. Towards the afternoon, highs will reach 14°C, offering a slightly warmer period but with increased cloud cover over the metropolitan region.
Wind will blow from the south and southwest sectors with moderate intensity, preventing significant temperature increases throughout the day. Relative humidity levels will remain in average ranges, ruling out the likelihood of rain in the metropolitan area.
For the evening, a gradual temperature decrease is expected, settling near 10°C, leaving a mass of cold air across the entire GBA strip. The National Meteorological Service has not registered alerts for immediate adverse phenomena in Buenos Aires territory, although in mountainous areas of the south and northwest, cold air intrusions are being monitored with possible gusts.
Friday the 21st is projected to have similar temperatures, with low minimums and highs limited by cloud cover. Looking ahead to the weekend, the cold air mass will gradually ease on Saturday the 22nd and Sunday the 23rd, when a slight thermal increase is expected and conditions will remain dry, allowing outdoor activities with appropriate clothing.
