Families in Cali have been forced to abandon their homes following an earthquake that caused significant damage to the city. The affected families have moved to emergency shelters, including a hockey coliseum converted to accommodate the displaced.
Some of those affected reported having faced multiple natural disasters. Lina Silva, a city resident, received humanitarian aid including clothing for her daughters at the shelters. Yurley Quiñónez was also among those displaced and housed in the emergency refuges.
Search and rescue operations continued in the city, particularly in buildings such as the Vanessa, where earthquake victims were reported. Cali was confirmed as one of the cities most severely affected by the earthquake.
